Welcome to the ICT Department

These are exciting times to be involved in ICT with its increasing use of creative resources, exciting courses that use professional software and an enhanced quality of teaching and learning.   So it doesn’t matter whether you are Year 7 or Year 13, an expert in HTML, Visual Basic or Publisher, ICT has something for you !

KEY STAGE 3

In lower school (Years 7-8) all students follow the National Strategy for ICT, but we have begun to adapt them to include more exciting lessons and resources that we have written or created or we have visited websites such as Teach ICT to introduce other aspects of ICT usage.

Year 9 is a preparation for GCSE where we use some of the software that they will use on the DiDA course in Year’s 10 and 11 such as the Macromedia suite of Flash, Fireworks and Dreamweaver

KEY STAGE 4

Years 10 and 11 follow the OCR National level 2 course.   All students get two lessons a fortnight and those who choose to do the option get 5 lesson per fortnight !

KEY STAGE 5

At A level we offer two courses;  the more vocational style OCR Applied ICT and the AQA Computing for those with a feeling for programming
