Level 1 The Challenge – TOP TEN Inventions
- Think of your list of the best ten inventions ever!
- Find out who invented each one.
- Make a list in chronological order (the order of the dates they were invented)
- Choose your top invention and give a short explanation of why you think it is best

Hand your TOP TEN list and description of your number 1 invention to your tutor or Mr Carrick by the end of term. Prizes for the most original list and best explanation will be awarded.
Level 2 The Dragons Den
In the Dragon’s Den TV programme inventors of new gadgets, or people with new ideas try to persuade these rich financiers to help them develop their idea or invention.
Imagine you are the inventor of one the objects in your top ten list. You have to prepare a description of your object to explain how these people will make even more money if they help you to develop your idea.
You might try to sell them the idea of the ballpoint pen, or the flushing toilet
or if you prefer some new idea that you have invented yourself.
Your sales pitch should be on one side of a piece of paper and handed to
Mr Carrick or your tutor by Friday 14th December
