Commendations Assembly

On Tuesday 16th December Year 7 had their first commendations assembly.  This was an opportunity to celebrate the success of the students during their first term.  Individual and group commendation certificates were given out along with a number of other awards.  Everyone was given the opportunity to enter into the festive spirit by bringing along a Christmas hat.

Well done to everyone and carry on collecting commendations for the next commendations assembly.

Parent Tutor Consultation evening

On Wednesday 19th November Year 7 tutors were available for a short consultation with parents/carers.  Students received a copy of their progress check for the first 2 months.  In tutor time they will follow up this information and set targets for improvement.  The full parent teacher consultation evening will take place in March.

ABC

On Tuesday 1st October Year 7 spent the day learning about Harry Carlton's Anti Bullying Campaign.  Sessions included the "Don't Suffer in Silence" DVD with Patsy Palmer and other celebrities including Phil Jupitas, Tony Robinson and Alan Davies.  There was an opportunity to express an Anti Bullying message through art and there were two sessions on cyberbullying.  The students all met our school community liaison officer PC Tristram and all the sixth form Anti Bullying Councilors.  We also held a poster competition which was won by Stephanie Rawsterne from 7CSB.
